1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Peety.ai ("Peety", "we", "us") is operated by Peety Portal L.L.C., a limited liability company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at Coastal Building M06, Al Twar Fifth, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Peety provides an AI retail assistant that lets local retailers take orders, send offers and manage customers on WhatsApp, together with a web dashboard for the retailer's team. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
It applies to: (a) visitors to this website, (b) retailers and their staff who use the Peety dashboard ("Retailers"), and (c) shoppers who chat with a Retailer's WhatsApp number that is powered by Peety ("Shoppers").
2. Our role: controller and processor
Our role depends on whose data it is:
- Retailer account data (staff names, work emails, store and payout details). Peety is the controller.
- Shopper data (WhatsApp number, messages, orders, delivery details). The Retailer decides why and how this data is used for its own store, so the Retailer is the controller and Peety is its processor. For the Shopper's use of the service itself, Peety also acts as a controller as described in the Shopper terms.
- Website visitor data (contact and demo forms, basic analytics). Peety is the controller.
If you are a Shopper and want to exercise your rights over data held by a Retailer, please contact that Retailer first, or write to us and we will help.
3. Information we collect
From Retailers and their staff
- Name, work email, phone number, role and login credentials. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
- Store name, branches, opening hours, delivery areas, delivery fees and branch locations.
- Product catalogue, prices, stock levels, images, offers and flyers you upload or import.
- Onboarding and agreement details, and bank or payout details used to pay you out. These are masked in the dashboard and sensitive changes need you to sign in again.
- Wallet top-ups, service fees and payout records. Card details are entered on the payment provider's secure page and are not stored by Peety.
- Connection details for your WhatsApp Business account and the message templates you create.
From Shoppers, through a Retailer's WhatsApp chat
- WhatsApp phone number and profile name.
- The messages you send, including text, voice notes (which may be transcribed), images, shared locations and button replies.
- Cart and order details, delivery address or pin location, order status and payment status.
- Return and refund requests, including the reason, description and photos you submit.
- Your marketing preferences, including whether you have opted in or opted out.
Automatically
- Device, browser, IP address and log data when you use the dashboard or this website.
- Usage data used to keep the service secure and working, such as sign-in attempts and error reports.
4. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- Provide the service: understand Shopper messages, build carts, take orders, send confirmations and delivery updates, and show orders and reports to the Retailer.
- Send offers and reminders on a Retailer's behalf to Shoppers who have not opted out, and honour opt-outs and sending limits.
- Create and secure Retailer accounts, provide support and send service notices.
- Process payments, wallet top-ups, service fees and payouts, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Improve and troubleshoot the service, including measuring performance and fixing errors.
- Meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal data.
5. AI processing
Peety uses artificial intelligence to understand what a Shopper is asking for, search the Retailer's catalogue, suggest products and draft replies, and to transcribe voice notes. To do this, the relevant message text, voice note and catalogue information are sent to our AI service providers for processing, limited to what is needed for the request.
AI can make mistakes. Prices, discounts, fees and totals are always calculated by Peety's systems from the Retailer's catalogue and settings, not by the AI. Shoppers can ask to speak to the store, and Retailers can review every order.
6. WhatsApp and Meta
Peety connects to the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta. Messages travel through Meta's infrastructure, so Meta's own terms and privacy notices also apply to your use of WhatsApp. Meta receives the message content and metadata needed to deliver messages, and may process data as described in the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. Peety does not control how Meta uses data it receives in its own right.
7. Marketing messages and opting out
Retailers use Peety's Campaign Centre to send offers on WhatsApp. Peety supports responsible messaging by:
- Recording a Shopper's opt-in and opt-out status.
- Checking opt-outs before a campaign is sent and excluding opted-out Shoppers automatically.
- Skipping invalid numbers and numbers that are known to be undeliverable.
- Applying daily sending limits and the messaging quality rules set by Meta.
You can opt out of offers at any time by tapping the Stop offers button on a promotional message, or by asking the store. Order and delivery messages about an order you placed are service messages and may still be sent.
8. Who we share data with
We share personal data only as needed to run the service, with:
- The Retailer you are ordering from, or that your employer operates.
- Delivery riders assigned by the Retailer, who see only what is needed to complete a delivery.
- Meta Platforms for WhatsApp messaging.
- AI service providers (such as OpenAI) to process messages, voice notes and catalogue data.
- Cloud hosting providers (such as Amazon Web Services) to host the platform and store data.
- Mapping providers (such as Google Maps) to read addresses and locations and check delivery areas.
- Payment providers (such as Mamo Pay) to take card payments, top-ups and process refunds.
- Service tools for agreements (such as DocuSign), push notifications (such as OneSignal) and email.
- Professional advisers and authorities where required by law, or to protect rights and safety.
- A successor if Peety is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
These providers act under written terms and may only use the data to provide services to us.
9. International transfers
Peety is based in the United Arab Emirates. Some of our providers, such as Meta, AI, mapping and cloud services, process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data outside the UAE, we do so in line with applicable data protection law and choose providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
10. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- Retailer account data: while the account is active, and afterwards for the period needed for accounting, tax and legal records.
- Shopper chats and orders: while the Retailer's account is active, or until a verified deletion request is completed, unless we must keep a record for legal, tax or dispute reasons.
- Opt-out records: kept so we can keep honouring your choice.
- Logs and backups: kept for a limited period for security and recovery, then deleted or overwritten.
11. Security
We use measures such as encrypted connections, hashed passwords, role-based access, separation of data between Retailers, encryption of stored credentials, private storage with short-lived links for sensitive documents, sign-in protections and logging of administrative actions. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorised access. Learn more on our Security page.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data, or restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for example for marketing messages.

To make a request, email privacy@peety.ai. We may need to verify your identity, and for Shopper data we may direct your request to the relevant Retailer.
13. Data deletion
You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@peety.ai from the email address on your account, or, for Shoppers, with the WhatsApp number you used and the store name.
- We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
- Removal from backup archives can take up to an additional 60 days.
- We may keep data we are legally required to keep, such as financial and tax records and records needed for disputes, and data that has been anonymised.
- If you connected through Meta or Facebook, you can also remove the Peety app from your Meta settings and contact us to confirm deletion.
14. Children
Peety is for businesses and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
15. Cookies on this website
This website uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed to make it work and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used. If we add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a material change, we will notify Retailers by email or in the dashboard.
